Karla Boxall is a PhD student whose research uses synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery to identify velocity variations of Antarctic ice shelves and the glaciers nourishing them. Her research is currently focussed on the George VI Ice Shelf, Antarctic Peninsula, and its contributing glaciers, but will also investigate the factors forcing the observed velocity variations. Karla also uses interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) to locate Antarctic grounding lines i.e. the boundary between terrestrial and floating ice.
